Senators subdue Boston

Bonk, McEachern ignite Ottawa, 5-3

— The Ottawa Senators are peaking at the right time as they pursue the top seed in the Eastern Conference.

Shawn McEachern and Radek Bonk scored two goals each, lifting the Senators over Boston, 5-3, Thursday night.

Ottawa, which lost to New Jersey on Tuesday, has dropped back-to-back games only once this season. The Senators are 10-3-1-2 since the All-Star break.

"There is no doubt depth has been one of our key ingredients this year," Senators coach Jacques Martin said. "We have players that have speed and that can finish."

The Bruins lost for the third time this week and have lost two straight at home after winning five in a row.

"Two veteran defenseman let us down tonight," Bruins coach Mike Keenan said. "You find out what people are made of in pressure-packed situations."

After the Bruins tied it 3-3 with two goals in the first 1:34 of the third period, Ottawa regained the lead when Marian Hossa scored his 27th goal.

Kings 4, Predators 1

Los Angeles Philippe Boucher and Glen Murray scored power-play goals and Ian Laperriere ended a 16-game goal drought as Los Angeles beat Nashville.

Coyotes 3, Canucks 2, OT

Phoenix Shane Doan scored 48 seconds into overtime as Phoenix rallied from a two-goal deficit to beat Vancouver. Keith Tkachuk tied it at 2 on a shot that slipped between goalie Bob Essensa's legs.

Flyers 5, Flames 2

Philadelphia Keith Primeau scored a career-high three goals and Roman Cechmanek made 22 saves as Philadelphia beat Calgary.

Devils 6, Wild 2

East Rutherford, N.J. Sergei Brylin and Patrik Elias scored 90 seconds apar.

Penguins 5, Thrashers 3

Atlanta Jeff Norton scored the go-ahead goal with 3:37 remaining and Jaromir Jagr had two goals and an assist as Pittsburgh beat Atlanta.

Avalanche 5, Blues 2

St. Louis Joe Sakic had two goals and an assist to lead Colorado over slumping St. Louis. It was the fourth time this season Sakic had multiple goals.

Lightning 1, Hurricanes 0

Tampa, Fla. Martin St. Louis scored with 59 seconds remaining, and Kevin Weekes made 20 saves to lead Tampa Bay over Carolina.
