Services for Roger W. Bond, 57, Lecompton, will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Victory Bible Church, the former First Church of the Nazarene building. Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery, Lecompton.
Mr. Bond died Tuesday, March 6, 2001, at his home.
He was born Oct. 14, 1943, in Liberal, the son of Alvin and Mildred (Powell) Bond. He attended Wichita Friends University and Kansas University. He grew up in rural Plains and moved to Lawrence in 1965.
A U.S. Army veteran, Mr. Bond worked 33 years at Lawrence Memorial Hospital, where he was a medical technologist. He also had worked for 12 years at Research Medical Center, Kansas City, Mo.
He was a member of First Church of the Nazarene and was active in Kansas City District Nazarene Mission Council. He was also a member of Antique Airplane Club, Kansas City, Mo., and Save A Connie Airplane Club, Kansas City, Mo.
He married Carolyn Frye on July 29, 1967, in Lawrence. She survives of the home.
Other survivors include a daughter, Wendi Georgie, Lawrence; three sons, Randall, Topeka, and Robert and Richard, both of Lawrence; his mother, Mildred Bond, Plains; two brothers, Hubert, Plains, and Harvey, Garden Grove, Calif.; a sister, Maxine Lamb, Ireland; and 10 grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday at Warren-McElwain Mortuary.
The family suggests memorials to Nazarene World Missions, sent in care of the mortuary.
