Free State High's hockey club will travel to Kansas City this weekend for the Kansas Western Conference semifinals.
Free State advanced with a 3-2 victory over Olathe North on Tuesday night in Lenexa. David Knight had two goals and Matt Schwabauer drilled the game-winner with 1:33 remaining. Scott Smith stopped 23 shots in goal.
Free State will meet Wichita in a best-of-three series. The first game will be at 6:30 p.m. Saturday at Pepsi Ice Midwest, in Kansas City.
