— Dominik Hasek stopped 20 shots as the well-rested Buffalo Sabres beat the travel-weary Boston Bruins 3-1 Tuesday night.

Curtis Brown and Jason Woolley scored, and Vladimir Tsyplakov added an empty-netter for the Sabres, who arrived Sunday night before a much-hyped storm dumped up to two feet of snow on parts of Massachusetts. The Bruins, who played at Philadelphia on Monday night, didn't get back home until after noon on Tuesday.

Capitals 5, Islanders 1

Uniondale, N.Y. Adam Oates had a goal and three assists as Washington extended its unbeaten streak over the New York Islanders to 19 games.

Devils 3, Senators 2, OT

East Rutherford, N.J. Patrik Elias scored 28 seconds into overtime, and New Jersey won its fifth straight game by rallying past Ottawa. New Jersey defenseman Scott Stevens set up power-play goals by Jason Arnott and Sergei Brylin to bring the Devils into a 2-2 tie.

Lightning 2, Sharks 1

Tampa, Fla. Brad Richards scored with 57.4 seconds left in overtime as Tampa Bay beat San Jose.

Wild 3, Blues 3

St. Paul, Minn. Cam Stewart scored with 2:01 left in regulation as Minnesota tied St. Louis. The Blues took a 3-2 on Dallas Drake's goal with 6:49 remaining.

Avalanche 4, Thrashers 2

Atlanta Ville Nieminen scored two goals to lead Colorado over Atlanta.

Nolan Pratt's first goal of the season with 6:37 to play broke a 2-2 tie.

Niemenin scored his second goal 26 seconds later.

Hnat Domenichelli and Ray Ferraro scored for Atlanta, which lost for the first time in four games.

Maple Leafs 3, Flames 1

Calgary, Alberta Nik Antropov and Mats Sundin scored 97 seconds apart midway through the third period.

The Leafs moved past Pittsburgh into sixth place in the Eastern Conference.

Kings 4, Canadiens 3

Los Angeles Bryan Smolinski scored the go-ahead goal after Los Angeles blew a three-goal lead.

Coyotes 5, Predators 1

Phoenix Shane Doan scored twice and Jeremy Roenick had a goal and two assists.
