Scranton Graveside services for Maxine Bleidissel, 83, Scranton, will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Scranton Cemetery.

Mrs. Bleidissel died Sunday, March 4, 2001, at Stormont-Vail Regional Health Center, Topeka.

She was born Oct. 16, 1917, in Scranton, the daughter of James and Elizabeth (Ross) Brackman. She grew up in Scranton and graduated from Scranton High School.

Mrs. Bleidissel worked at the United States Supply Depot at Forbes Air Force Base, Topeka. She also was U.S. postmaster at Scranton for several years. She retired from the Kansas Department of Revenue in 1984 after 12 years of service.

She was a member of the Scranton United Methodist Church and the United Methodist Women at the church. She was a member and past Worthy Matron of Carbondale Chapter No. 37, OES. She was a past Worthy High Priestess of Trinity White Shrine No. 7, Topeka.

She married Lloyd Bleidissel Aug. 16, 1952, in Bentonville, Ark. He survives of the home.

Other survivors include two sons, Don Magnuson, Manhattan, and Jerry Magnuson, Lawrence; 16 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Bleidissel was preceded in death by three stepchildren, Darlene Langdon, Ron Bleidissel and Louise Murren.

Friends may call from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Carey Funeral Home, Burlingame, where the family will greet them from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.

The family suggests memorials to the Arab Shrine Transportation Fund, sent in care of the funeral home, P.O. Box 196, Burlingame 66413.
