Shared-leave benefit program expected to gain approval
Bottom Line
Lawrence city commissioners are expected to approve the creation of a shared-leave benefit program for city employees.
Backgrund
City employees would be allowed to donate a portion of their sick leave to the pool every year. Eligible employees could apply to use hours from the pool to prevent financial disaster if their own sick leave is depleted, but catastrophic illness or injury requires absence from work.
