On the final day of the Big 12 regular season, the latest installment of the Kansas-Missouri Border War lived up to its billing. What a way to go out--especilly for the Jayhawk senior trio of Kenny Gregory, Eric Chenowith and Luke Axtell. After being down by one after the first half, Kansas took control of the game and entered the post-season on a high note.

The game set off at a blistering pace, then settled down into a battle of turnovers. Missouri scored nine points in the first four minutes, then only two in the following four minutes. At halftime MU had a 31-30 lead.

Kansas came out firing in the second half. At first, Missouri fought back just as hard--the score was knotted at 39 with three minutes gone. From that point onward it was all Jayhawks as Kansas outscored Mizzou 36-20 (45-28 for the half).

Drew Gooden scored 19 points and grabbed seven rebounds. Kenny Gregory notched 16 points and added nine boards.

Next up for Kansas is a second round Big 12 Tournament game on Friday at 6 p.m. KU will face the winner of Thursday's Nebraska-Kansas State game.
