Edwin and Phyllis Booth, Baldwin, will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary with a family dinner. In the summer, they plan to take an Alaskan cruise.
Edwin Booth and Phyllis Strell were married Feb. 18, 1951, in Omaha, Neb.
They were both born and raised in Omaha, Neb. Ed worked for AT&T; in Omaha, Kansas City, Mo., and Atlanta. He retired after 36 years of service.
Their children are David and Jeannette Booth, Overland Park, and Larry and Karen Booth, Olathe. They have five grandsons.
June and Alan Fisher, Lawrence, will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary with a reception from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday, March 11, at the American Legion, 3408 W. Sixth St., Lawrence.
They were married March 9, 1951, in Lawrence.
June has worked for the Credit Bureau of Lawrence from 1942 to 1952. She is a past president of The American Legion Auxiliary, and a member of Business and Professional Women.
Alan earned a bachelor's degree in 1949 from Kansas University. He worked for Reuter Pipe Organ Co. from 1949 to 1994, holding various management positions. He is an active member of the American Legion Post No. 14, and also has held the office of past president.
They have four sons: Michael Fisher and Brian Fisher, both of Eudora; and Kevin Fisher and Kent Fisher, both of Lawrence. They also have three grandchildren.
