Douglas County Treasurer Pat Wells said people have until 5 p.m. to pay their taxes at the courthouse, 11th and Massachusetts, or mailed statements must be postmarked with today's date.
People also can take advantage of the satellite offices at 27th and Iowa streets, open 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.; 813 Eighth St., Baldwin, open until 4 p.m.; and Dillons, 3000 W. Sixth St., open 7 a.m. to 6 p.m.
There also are drop boxes in the small parking lot south of the courthouse and at the 27th Street location. Payments must be dropped off in the boxes by midnight tonight, Wells said.
After today, interest on the tax bills will start accruing.
