Mr. Rice died Sunday, Feb. 25, 2001, at his home.
He was born June 19, 1911, in Brady, Neb., the son of Asa I. and Lola (Chrane) Rice. He graduated from Bethany Peniel College, now Southern Nazarene University, with a major in chemistry.
Mr. Rice taught school and coached girls basketball in Alfalfa, Neb. He moved to El Dorado, Kan., where he worked as a chemist for Skelly Oil Co. He worked for Hercules Powder Co. during World War II and later moved to Lawrence, Kan., and worked as a project engineer at Farmland Industries. In 1982, he moved to Oklahoma.
He was an active member of Church of the Nazarene.
He married Nettie Esther Troub Aug. 29, 1937. She survives of the home.
Other survivors include a son, Justin, Nashville, Tenn.; two daughters, Linda Wright, Oklahoma City, and Janice Long, Salina, Kan.; a sister, Helen Belcher, Yukon, Okla.; eight grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
The family suggests memorials to Frank and Nettie Rice Memorial Scholarship for World Missions at Southern Nazarene University, 6729 N.W. 39th Expressway, Bethany 73008.
