Mr. Elliott died Tuesday, June 19, 2001, at St. Luke's Medical Center, Kansas City, Mo.
He was born Dec. 4, 1922, in Lawrence, the son of Thomas Gold and Nancy (Harris) Elliott.
Mr. Elliott served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II. He was a self-employed carpenter and had formerly worked for Harris Construction.
He was a member of Lawrence First Free Methodist Church and American Legion Dorsey-Liberty Post No. 14, Lawrence. He was a past commander of V.F.W. Alford-Clarke Post No. 852 and the Fraternal Order of Eagles Mount Oread Aerie No. 309, both of Lawrence.
He married Kathleen M. Hadl Dec. 31, 1946, in Lawrence. She died Feb. 19, 1992.
Survivors include a daughter, Deborah Cartall, Dripping Springs, Tex.; a son, Joseph E. Elliott, Divide, Colo.; four sisters, Jeanette Stine, Lawrence, Alta Gerard, Phoenix, Charlotte Hartwig, Lafayette, Colo., and Mary Jane Rivers, San Bernardino, Calif.; six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

The family suggests memorials to the American Cancer Society, American Diabetes Assn., Salvation Army or American Heart Fund, sent in care of the mortuary.
