Portland, Ore. Services for Raymond F. Hicks, 76, Greshman, were Saturday at Lynchwood Church of God in Portland.
Mr. Hicks died Tuesday, June 12, 2001, in Gresham.
He was born May 27, 1925, in Lawrence, Kan., the son of Perry and Katherine Hicks. He graduated from Liberty Memorial High School in 1943. He enlisted in the U.S. Army and was a veteran of the Battle of the Bulge.
After the war, Mr. Hicks returned to Kansas City, Kan., where he attended Kansas City University. He also attended Pacific Bible College and Portland State University. He graduated from Cascade College with a bachelor's degree in psychology.
He worked in Lawrence, Kan., for Logan Moore Lumber Co., then moved to California, where he was a milkman. While attending school in Oregon, he worked for the Fred Meyer food store chain and as a real estate agent.
In 1957, he became a court counselor for juveniles at the Donald D. Long Home. He retired in 1984.
He was a member of Lynchwood Church of God and a third-degree Mason.
Mr. Hicks married Norma Winters on June 6, 1944. She survives of the home.
Other survivors include a daughter, Pam Thomason, Lewiston, Idaho; two sons, Larry, Waterloo, Belgium, and Will, Washougal, Wash.; two sisters, Wilma Davis and Meldean Pearson, both of Lawrence, Kan.; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
