Athens Greece — Olympic 100-meter champion Maurice Greene ran his fastest race of the season Monday in winning in 9.91 seconds at the Athens Grand Prix.
His training partner, Ato Boldon of Trinidad & Tobago, was second at 9.97, and Bernard Williams third at 10.07.
This was Greene's second race this year under 10 seconds, after running 9.96 in May at the Japan Grand Prix.
Greene, who set the world record of 9.79 at Athens' Olympic Stadium during the 1999 Grand Prix, complained about a bad start, a race that was marred by a false start and knee problems.
"I am not pleased with it," Greene said. "I am disappointed. My start was terrible."
