Graveside services for Dorothy Alice Ray, 71, Lawrence, will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Reformed Presbyterian Cemetery, Winchester.

Mrs. Ray died Tuesday, June 5, 2001, at her home.

She was born July 17, 1929, in Paola, the daughter of Charles and Georgia (Fletcher) Smith.

Mrs. Ray was a homemaker, and was a member of Mustard Seed Christian Fellowship.

She married Howard Ray on Dec. 16, 1984, in Williamstown. He survives of the home.

She was preceded in death by a son, Wesley Harold Pickens, in 1965.

Other survivors include two sons, Daryl D. Sr. and Alvin Pickens, both of Lawrence; four stepsons, Benjamin, Lester, Larry and Howard Ray Jr., all of Topeka; five stepdaughters, Margaret Corber, Beverly Summerville and Mary Ray, all of Topeka, Carol Thomas, Oskaloosa, and Linda Williams, Pomona; a brother, Clifford Smith, Williamsburg; a sister, Doris Woodward, Oskaloosa; three grandchildren; several stepgrandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; several stepgreat-grandchildren; and four stepgreat-great-grandchildren.

Friends may call from noon to 9 p.m. today and 9 a.m. to noon Thursday at Rumsey-Yost Funeral Home.
