Dorothy Beatty

— Services for Dorothy Vera Beatty, 91, Andover, will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Lecompton United Methodist Church. Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery, Lecompton.

Mrs. Beatty died Monday, June 4, 2001, at Catholic Care Center, Wichita.

She was born Nov. 7, 1909, in Lecompton, the daughter of David L. and Catherine (Zeeb) Paslay. She attended Big Springs Grade School and Star Grade School, Lecompton, and graduated from Lecompton High School. She moved to Wichita in 1953, returned to Lecompton in 1973 and moved to Andover in 1993.

Mrs. Beatty was a volunteer at Lecompton United Methodist Church and with Lecompton Historical Society, and was a member of Goldenrod Club.

She married Vernon Beatty in September 1931 in Jefferson City, Mo. He died in 1979.

Survivors include a daughter, Doris Wyatt, Andover; a sister, Marie Neill, Topeka; a brother, Albert Paslay, Lecompton; two grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday at Rumsey-Yost Funeral Home, where the family will receive friends from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday.

The family suggests memorials to the church or Alzheimer's Assn., and they may be sent in care of the funeral home, P.O. Box 1260, Lawrence 66044.
