LPGA to share spotlight

July 30, 2001

— Tiger Woods has carried the PGA Tour to record levels of exposure since he turned pro five years ago. Tonight, in another prime-time exhibition, the LPGA Tour gets to come along for the ride.

Annika Sorenstam and Karrie Webb will share some of the spotlight in this year's episode of the "Battle at Bighorn" when they hook up with Woods and British Open champion David Duval in a mixed team, alternate-shot match.

The winning team Woods and Sorenstam vs. Duval and Webb will split $1.2 million of the $1.7 purse in an 18-hole match that ABC Sports will televise at 7 p.m.
