Fishing Report

CLINTON RESERVOIR (7-26) Water 82 degrees, clearn and one foot above normal pool. Channel catfish excellent on crawdads, minnows, livers, stinkbait and worms. Many are being caught off clay points or on mudflats drifting shad. Chumming with soybeans is working well. Crappie good on jigs and minnows at about 10-12 feet over brush. Walleye good. Fishing has been spotty. Most fish being taken on jig and nightcrawler in Clinton Point area. White bass good drifting florescent yellow slab spoons, or casting jigs over humps off Clinton Point.

PERRY RESERVOIR (7-24) Water 86 degrees and 1.8 feet above normal. Channel catfish good. The feeders are in and are producing some nice fish. Shad are just right for drifting, beans are in the "Hog Trough". Sauger fair in Rock and Slough creeks on crankbaits or jigs and minnows on the bottom. White Bass fair off windy points with twisters or crank baits. Saw fish busting the surface. White crappie fair on tube jigs or minnows. Note: Upper end of the lake is a little dirty from the recent rains up the watershed but the cats love it. Lake is dropping should be back to pool soon. fish the outlet while you can.

DOUGLAS STATE LAKE (7-26) Bluegill good on nightcrawlers around feeders and near shoreline cover. Carp fair on corn around feeders. Channel catfish good on chicken livers and Bee-Jay around feeders.

LEAVENWORTH STATE LAKE (7-26) Bluegill fair on crickets and nightcrawlers around feeders, brushpiles and rocky areas. Channel catfish good on Bee-Jay, chicken livers and nightcrawlers around feeders. Largemouth bass fair. Some fish are being taken using nightcrawlers, minnows, 4- and 6-inch plastic worms, white spinnerbaits and crankbaits.

LONESTAR LAKE (7-26) Channel catfish good on prepared baits and chicken livers off points and in coves.
