Traffic heading west was backed up Friday morning on the Kansas Turnpike after a tractor-trailer overturned on the roadway about three miles east of Lawrence.
The accident occurred about 8 a.m. Friday near the 207 mile marker, close to the Douglas-Leavenworth County line. Traffic going west of the accident was shut down for three hours.
One lane in each direction is currently open, according to the Kansas Turnpike Authority.
