Clinton Parkway offers children's program

Clinton Parkway Assembly of God Church offers a "Seaside with the Savior" program for children ages 3 through sixth grade. The weekly program meets at 6:50 p.m. Wednesdays at the church, 3200 Clinton Parkway. It will end with a "Family Fun Night" Aug. 22. For more information, call 843-7189.

Calvary Temple plans Singspiration Night

Singspiration Night will be 6:30 p.m. Sunday at Calvary Temple Assembly of God, 606 W. 29th St. Terrace. July birthdays and anniversaries will be celebrated Sunday morning.

Assembly of God General Council will be Aug. 7-10 at the downtown Convention Center in Kansas City., Mo.

Ninth Street planning music workshop

Ninth Street Missionary Baptist Church, 901 Tenn., will hold a fall music workshop 6:30 p.m. Aug. 15-17. A musical production will be at 6 p.m. Aug. 18. Guest clinician will be the Rev. Steven Jones of the Tabernacle Baptist Church in Wichita.

Christian Church offers combined service

First Christian Church, 1000 Ky., will have one service Sunday. The combined Celebration Service will be at 10:30 a.m.

A combined service is held each time a fifth Sunday occurs in a month.

A heritage emphasis will be a part of this celebration, recognizing 50-year members of the congregation and the ministries offered by the church throughout the years.

Pastor Ron Goodman will complete his sermon series, "Love Is Enduring," based on I Corinthians 13.

Dixieland jazz band to play at Heartland

Paul Gray and the Gaslite Gang, a dixieland jazz band started in 1966 in Lawrence, will provide music for the 11 a.m. Sunday service at Heartland Community Church, 619 Vt.

The message is titled "Playing By Ear." A nursery will be provided. There will be a separate program for elementary students during the service.

Celebrant to be welcomed at Trinity

The Rev. Kelly Demo will be welcomed as the celebrant at the 8 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. services Sunday at Trinity Episcopal Church, 1011 Vt. The sermon will be by Deacon Dick Tracy.

The parents' group will meet at 9:30 a.m. in the parish library.
