Hepburn leaves hospital

Actress Katharine Hepburn was discharged Thursday from Hartford (Conn.) Hospital after a week's stay for a minor infection.

Hepburn, 94, returned to her home in Old Saybrook, Conn., hospital spokesman James Battaglio said. The four-time Academy Award winner was admitted July 18 for a urinary tract infection.

During her 60-year career, Hepburn was nominated for a record-tying 12 Academy Awards and won for "Morning Glory," 1933; "Guess Who's Coming to Dinner," 1967; "The Lion in Winter," 1968; and "On Golden Pond," 1981.

L.A. confidential

First daughter Jenna Bush has snagged a job at the entertainment firm that produced "The Sopranos" and "Just Shoot Me."

Bush, 19, is working as a summer intern in Los Angeles for Brillstein-Grey while on break from the University of Texas, according to numerous reports. A company memo asked employees to keep quiet about the new hire, but someone leaked the news to a Web site.

Noelia Rodriguez, spokeswoman for first lady Laura Bush, maintained the couple's general silence on their daughters Wednesday, saying only about Jenna: "She is in Los Angeles, but that's all we will say."

Love shack

Courtney Love, who is being sued in Vancouver, British Columbia, for failing to pay more than $40,000 in rent, said the house wasn't suitable so the lease was never executed.

The singer-actress made the statement in papers filed recently in the British Columbia Supreme Court by Vancouver lawyer Gordon Weatherill, who is acting for Love and another defendant, Kitty Films Inc.

Peter Ashby sued Love, the widow of Nirvana lead singer Kurt Cobain, saying she moved out of his waterfront home after only one day while working in the Vancouver area on the movie "24 Hours."

Love's statement on July 11 said the agreement was subject to her approval of the home, which she had not seen before.

In published reports, Love was quoted as saying the mansion was too big and had too many stairs.

Another wedding for Andie

"Four Weddings and a Funeral" star Andie MacDowell is marrying a childhood friend.

The 43-year-old actress accepted an engagement ring last week from Rhett Hartzog, 43, an Atlanta jewelry businessman.

Marion MacDowell, father of the bride-to-be, said his daughter plans to marry in November in Asheville, N.C., where MacDowell lives. It will be her second marriage.

The actress, whose real name is Rosie, also starred in "Groundhog Day" and "sex, lies and videotape."
