To the editor:
We would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who was kind enough to help us in our time of disaster. We have traveled close to 6,000 miles across the United States on a truly wonderful adventure on our motorcycle. Through many states, we have commented how truly friendly our fellow Americans had been. Our country is truly breathtaking, and by motorcycle awesome.
We wanted to take this opportunity to thank everyone from the concerned motorists, to the EMT personnel, to the Kansas Highway Patrol for their prompt and professional attention. Also, a warm thank you to all the Lawrence Memorial Hospital staff for their kind and loving care given to us to start our healing on its way. So many unnamed people helped us and we just wanted them to know we truly feel blessed. You touched our lives and made such an impact on us, thank you does not seem like enough.
Encountering a buck on Highway 40 on the Fourth of July was not how we envisioned celebrating America's independence, but Kansas citizens truly cemented the meaning "I AM PROUD TO BE AN AMERICAN."
