Wichita — Denise Desilet of Wichita still leads after the second round in the Kansas Women's Golf Association State Amateur Championship. But Tamara Munsch of Hays trails by just one shot.
Desilet shot 80 on the par 73 Alfred MacDonald municipal golf course, where players fought swirling winds Wednesday. Desilet has a two-day total of 149.
Munsch shot a 78, giving her a two-day total of 150. And Cathy Stevens of Wichita, a four-time winner at the Championship, is just one stroke further behind with 151.
The low score on Wednesday was a 76 shot by both Stevens and Sylvia Kang of Wichita. Kang's daughter, Susan Kang, 13, is the youngest player in the field, and she leads her mother by two strokes.
The final round is today.
