— Services for Glen Harvey Pierce, 87, Mound City, will be 11 a.m. today at Butler-Fulton-Nickel Funeral Home. Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery, Kansas City, Kan.

Mr. Pierce died Saturday, July 7, 2001, at Meadowbrook Rehabilitation Hospital of Kansas City, Gardner, KS.

He was born March 20, 1914, in Ridgeway, Mo., the son of James Henry and Jesse Bell (Cook) Pierce. He retired from the Corps of Engineers after 25 years of service. He was a member of the International Poetry Society.

He married Doris Irene Pierce. She died in 1975.

Survivors include two sons, Kerry, Lawrence, and James A., Lyndon; two brothers, Richard, Independence, Mo., and Bob, Lamoni, Iowa; three sisters, Alice Regan and Roberta Bennett, both of Eagleville, Mo., and Mary Jo Vaudiven, Bethany, Mo.; and four grandchildren.

Friends may call from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. today at Butler-Fulton-Nickel Chapel.

The family suggests memorials to the American Cancer Society, sent in the care of the funeral home, 22 S. 18th St., Kansas City, Kan. 66102.
