Former ‘Marlboro Man’ from Kansas dies

— Wayne Dunafon, one of several real-life cowboys who became an enduring symbol of the Marlboro cigarette brand in television and print ads, has died at age 82.

Dunafon died of natural causes Sunday at Wamego City Hospital.

A rancher in the Westmoreland area since 1940, Dunafon also had a competitive rodeo career spanning 38 years.

He was a "Marlboro Man" from 1964 to 1978.
