Show features antiques, collectibles

Topeka The Heritage Show of Antiques and Collectibles will be from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. July 8 at White Lakes Center, 3688 S.W. Topeka Blvd.

The show will include vintage jewelry, glassware, heirloom furniture, primitives and other items. Informal appraisals of Depression glass and repairs to damaged glass or crystal will be offered. An antiques auction will begin at 2 p.m. July 8.

There is no admission charge.

Sci-fi, fantasy authors to signs books

Several science fiction and fantasy authors will sign copies of their books from 12:45 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Mount Oread Bookshop in the Kansas Union on the Kansas University campus.

Attending the book signing are Robin Wayne Bailey, James Gunn, Kij Johnson, Justin Leiber, Chris McKitterick, Frederik Pohl and the recipient of the 2001 Theodore Sturgeon Award.

The winner of the Theodore Sturgeon Award, along with the John W. Campbell Award and inductees into the Science Fiction and Fantasy Hall of Fame, will be announced at a banquet before the signing.
