Earl Clary

— Services for Earl Leon Clary, 84, Baldwin, will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Lamb-Roberts-Heise Funeral Home, Baldwin. Burial will be in Prairie City Cemetery, Baldwin.

Mr. Clary died Tuesday, Jan. 16, 2001, in Lawrence.

He was born Nov. 17, 1916, in Wilmore, the son of Anna Yakle and Homer Cleveland Clary. He attended grade school in Humboldt. He moved to Baldwin in 1931 and attended school there.

Mr. Clary worked for Critchfield Motors, Baldwin, for several years as a mechanic before working for Johnson Chevrolet, Baldwin. He then worked at Sunflower Ordnance Depot, DeSoto, for Hercules Powder Co. After he retired in 1982, he worked for Madl Implement in the parts department. He was a Prairie City Cemetery Assn. board member.

He married Marjorie Capper on Nov. 28, 1939. They later divorced.

Survivors include three daughters, Sharon Kay Burns-Bohm, Leavenworth; Marilyn Sue Coon and Carol Ann Hopkins, both of Lawrence; eight grandchildren; a stepgrandchild; nine great-grandchildren; and two stepgreat-grandchildren.

A son, Steve Lee, died Jan. 29, 1987.

Friends may call after 1 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home, where the family will receive friends from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Thursday.
