Ottawa School Board to meet Monday

The Ottawa School Board will meet in a special session at 6 p.m. Monday at Ottawa Middle School, 1230 S. Ash St., Ottawa.

Board members will discuss the construction contact for the renovation of the old middle school, 908 W. 11th St..

The meeting is expected to last about 20 minutes.




Organization to begin spring enrollment

Small World will begin its spring semester with enrollment and placement testing of new students at 9 a.m. Thursday at First Presbyterian Church, 2415 Clinton Parkway.


Small World is a nonprofit volunteer program for women of all ages, with the primary function of helping international women and their children learn or improve their English, according to Kathy Mulinazzi, Small World director.

Mulinazzi said that the program is in need of volunteers of all talents and interests.

The group meets from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays at the church.
