Francis McGreevy

Mass of Christian Burial for Francis W. McGreevy, 76, Lawrence, will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.

Mr. McGreevy died Sunday, Feb. 11, 2001, at Lawrence Memorial Hospital.

He was born Sept. 23, 1924, in Axtell, the son of John and Mary (Miller) McGreevy.

Mr. McGreevy was a maintenance technician for Kansas University for 20 years. He retired in 1989. He was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, Mt. Oread Aerie No. 309 Fraternal Order of Eagles and Alford-Clarke Post No. 852 Veterans of Foreign Wars, all of Lawrence, and American Legion, Ozawkie.

He married Ethel Naomi Neville on June 8, 1948, in Seneca. She survives of the home.

Other survivors include a daughter, Connie Harrod, Lawrence; three brothers, Emmett, Topeka; Robert, Lawrence; and, John, Salina; and two grandchildren.

A rosary will be recited at 6:30 p.m. today at the church, where the family will receive friends after the rosary.

The family suggests memorials to the organization of the donor's choice, sent in care of Warren-McElwain Mortuary.
