He is the son of Joan and Dean Hockenbarger, McLouth.


Navy Senior Chief Vernon Russell has retired from the U.S. Navy after 29 years of honorable service. During Russell's career, he served in various command positions with NAS Moffett Field, Calif., USS Carl Vinson CVN 70 and USS George Washington CVN 73. He most recently was executive officer of Command Fleet Activity Detachment, Naval Station Chinhae, Republic of Korea.

Russell is a 1970 graduate of Baldwin High School and the son of Kathryn Russell, Baldwin, and the late Caspel Russell.


The Air Medal was awarded to Captain Charles E.E. Remboldt, Perry, for meritorious achievement while participating in sustained aerial flight as a KC-135E pilot in the 117th Air Refueling Squadron at Forbes Field in Topeka.

Remboldt displayed the highest degree of airmanship and courage during air refueling missions under hazardous conditions in support of Operation Allied Force, Operation Joint Guard, Operation Northern Watch and Operation Deny Flight.
