Oklahoma State brougt their hustle today. Despite what the final score says, this was a tightly fought game from wire to wire. The Cowboys jumped out to a 13-8 lead in the first four minutes, but scored only four in the following four minutes. The biggest first half lead belonged to Kansas--seven points--but at halftime that lead was only three.
The beginning of the second half was just as tightly as contested as the first, with neither team bein able to pull ahead by more than three points. The longer the game continued, however, the more Kansas began to pull away.
Drew Gooden sat out the game due to his injured wrist, but Kirk Hinrich picked up the slack, scoring 20 points. Eric Chenowith, who played 37 minutes today, knocked down 17 points and grabbed 12 rebounds. Kenny Gregory and Nick Collison each added ten points.
Brett Ballard was two-for-three from three point range for his six points.
