Kim Groenhagen

Oregon, Ill. Services for Kim Allen Groenhagen, 36, rural McLouth, Kan., will be at a later date in Oregon. Burial will be in Light House Cemetery, Oregon.

Mr. Groenhagen died Thursday, Feb. 8, 2001, at his home after a long recuperation from burns he received in a fire.

He was born April 4, 1964, in Rochelle, the son of Donald Bruce and Karen Jo Anne (Langholf) Groenhagen. He graduated from Oregon High School in 1982. He moved to the Lawrence, Kan., area in 1986, and had lived in rural McLouth for six years.

Mr. Groenhagen served in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1983 to 1986, and was a construction worker and fence builder. He was manager of Groenhagen Fence Works, rural McLouth.

Survivors include a daughter, Brittany Lynn Groenhagen, McLouth; and a stepdaughter, Shannon Nicole LeMoines, Harvey, La.; his mother, Karen J. Groenhagen, McLouth; his father and stepmother, Donald B. and Joyce Groenhagen, Oregon; and a brother, Kevin Lee, Lawrence.

The family will meet friends from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. today at Barnett Funeral Home, Oskaloosa, Kan.

The family suggests memorials to the burn unit of Kansas University Medical Center, 3901 Rainbow Blvd., Kansas City, Kan. 66106.
