DeSoto Services for Charles E. Rose, 92, DeSoto, will be at 10 a.m. Monday at DeSoto United Methodist Church. Burial will be in DeSoto Cemetery.

Mr. Rose died Friday, Feb. 9, 2001, at Eudora Nursing Center.

He was born June 17, 1908, in LaCygne.

Mr. Rose had worked at Hercules Army Ammunition Plant, in construction, and for Shawnee and DeSoto school districts. He retired in 1975. He then began selling Fuller Brush and Massons Shoes.

He married Stella Massey on Aug. 14, 1935. She and a son, Kenyon, died earlier.

Survivors include a daughter, Karen Russell, Eudora, and Marge Ireland, DeSoto; a son, Marvin Rose, Phoenix; nine grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

Friends may call from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday at Cedar Crest Memorial Chapel, DeSoto.

The family suggests memorials, which will remain in the DeSoto area, be sent in care of the chapel, P.O. Box 101, DeSoto 66018.
