Kansas State University recently announced students who made honors during the 2000 fall semester. Students receiving semester honors rank in the top 10 percent of their class within their colleges.

Jenna Oakes, Lawrence, has made the dean's list for the fall 2000 semester at Millikin University, Decatur, Ill., by earning at least a 3.5 grade point average.

Julie and Curt Pruitt, DeSoto, announce the birth of a daughter, Kaleigh Nicolle Pruitt, born Jan. 29, 2001, in Shawnee. She has a 4-year-old brother, Austin.

Maternal grandparents are Robert and Jean Givens, Lawrence. Paternal grandparents are Jim and Sharron Pruitt, Lawrence, and Orville and Mae Clemons, Coffeyville. Great-grandparents are Rachel Leming, Coffeyville, and Dorothy Mason, Lawrence.

Joyce and Mark Leonard, Lawrence, announce the birth of a son, Adam Joseph Leonard, born Feb. 2, 2001, at Overland Park Regional Medical Center.

Denise and Tom Rea, Des Moines, Iowa, announce the birth of a daughter, Elizabeth Anne Rea, born Feb. 1, 2001, in Des Moines. She has a 14-year-old brother, John, and a 9-year-old sister, Xannie.

Maternal grandparents are Jim and Darla Jackson, Ottumwa, Iowa. Paternal grandparents are Shirley Rea, Lawrence, and the late Tom Rea.

Jacob Montgomery, Lawrence, has made the dean's list for the fall 2000 semester at Wake Forest University, Winston-Salem, N.C., by earning at least a 3.0 grade point average.

Highland Community College announces students who made honors during the fall 2000 semester.

Area students who made the president's honor list by earning a 4.0 grade point average are Molly Mundinger, Baldwin; Jacqueline Evans and Amanda Goodwin, Lawrence; Cristy Schneider, Oskaloosa; Lindsey Edington, Ozawkie; and Donald Schneider, Tonganoxie.

Students who made the dean's honor list by earning between a 3.50 and 3.99 GPA are Rychelle Reiling, Lawrence, and Corinne Robbins, Pomona.

Anthony Miller, Lawrence, and Kathryn Tetuan, Tecumseh, were named to the fall 2000 dean's list at Baylor University, Waco, Tex. They earned at least a 3.7 grade point average.

Amy Kennedy, Lawrence, has been named to the fall 2000 dean's honor roll at Ottawa University by earning at least a 3.5 grade point average. Amy is the daughter of Richard and Darla Sturdevant and Bernie and Janice Kennedy.

Trina Bierman, Baldwin, was named to the 2001 edition of "Who's Who Among Students In American Universities and Colleges." She was selected by campus nominating committees and editors of the annual directory based on her academic achievement, service to the community, leadership in extracurricular activities and potential for continued success.

Melissa Colgan, senior at Lawrence High School, was awarded Kansas State University's $1,500 Leadership Scholarship.

Hayley Morgan, Lawrence, and Katrina Korb, Tonganoxie, were named to the dean's list at Iowa State University, Ames, Iowa, by earning at least a 3.5 grade point average.

Elise Hofer has been named to the fall 2000 semester dean's list at Goshen College, Goshen, Ind. She graduated from Free State High School in 2000 and is the daughter of Rod and Roberta Hofer, Lawrence.

Jenni McGinn, Lawrence, was named to the dean's list for the fall 2000 semester at Hastings College, Hastings, Neb. She earned a 4.0 grade point average.

Kara Mark and Patricia Leistner were named to the fall 2000 semester dean's list at Benedictine College, Atchison, by earning at least a 3.5 to 3.9 grade point average.

Kara is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Mark, Tonganoxie. Patricia is the daughter of Leslie Hinks, Lawrence.

Rachel Sellon, Lawrence, was named to the fall 2000 dean's List at Grinnell College, Grinnell, Iowa, by earning at least a 3.75 grade point average.

Kyle Browning, Lawrence, attended a joint Amnesty International and Sierra Club Youth Summit on Globalization in Washington, D.C. Kyle is a senior at Kansas University.

Linda English, Lawrence, was named to the fall 2000 dean's list at Upper Iowa University, Fayette, Iowa, by earning at least a 3.50 grade point average.

Megan Blair, Lawrence, was named to the fall 2000 dean's list at the University of Northern Iowa, Cedar Falls, Iowa., by earning at least a 3.5 grade point average.

Kenneth Rigdon, Lawrence, was awarded a doctorate in education administration from the University of Northern Iowa, Cedar Falls, Iowa.

Students in the studios of Christi Lanier, Elain de San Miguel and Carol Cook will perform at 7 p.m. Thursday at the Lawrence Arts Center. Those students are Nathan Burman, Gabrielle Burman, Ezra Brooks, Adrienne Willems, Samantha Galyardt, Katelyn Galyardt, Robert Elmore, Gina Tong, Wager Tong, Cyril Cook, Sarah Elbayoumy, Flora Jiang and Matthew Harvey.
