Hesper Services for Larry Willard "Bill" Klopfenstein, 79, Oklahoma City, will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Hesper Friends Church, three miles south of Eudora. Burial will follow at the Hesper Cemetery.

Mr. Klopfenstein died Saturday, Feb. 3, 2001, at Integris Baptist Medical Center, Oklahoma City.

He was born June 25, 1921, in Eudora, the son of Luther and Laura E. (Stanley) Klopfenstein. He spent his early life in Eudora and Lawrence. He moved to Oklahoma City in 1956.

He was a sergeant in the U.S. Army during World War II and the Korean War.

Mr. Klopfenstein was a truck driver for Safeway and Lawrence Laundry. When he moved to Oklahoma City, he worked for van line companies until he retired June 13, 1987.

He was a member of Britton Baptist Church, Oklahoma City.

He married Edith Boswell on Oct. 6, 1946, in Lawrence. She survives of the home.

Other survivors include a daughter, Janyth Brown, Oklahoma City; and two grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by an infant daughter in 1951.

The family suggests memorials to Hesper Friends Church and Hesper Cemetery, sent in care of Warren-McElwain Mortuary.
