Marilyn Stokstad, distinguished professor of art history at Kansas University, will be honored by a national organization for her contribution to the women's art movement.
Stokstad will receive the award Feb. 20 at Moore College of Art in Philadelphia during the annual convention of the National Women's Caucus for Art. She will be one of five women honored.
Stokstad will receive her award for showcasing women in her book "Art History," which, according to the organization, "is a direct challenge to the publishers' (Abrams/Prentice Hall) previous major survey by H.S. Janson, which included no women among its 3,000 artists."
