On the street

December 7, 2001

"Pearl Harbor wasn't really of my generation, so this anniversary doesn't have as much meaning. I see the two events as two separate events."

Connie Warkins, commercial interior designer, Lawrence

"I think this event was very much akin to what happened at Pearl Harbor. I have to admit I thought about it more this year. It has more meaning."

Terry Bewick, unemployed, Lawrence

"It means absolutely nothing to me. As a Buddhist, I can tell you if you concentrate on things so far back you will miss the moment."

Bill Manger, operations manager, Lawrence

"I don't think I've thought abut it differently. I think of it because my father was in World War II, but that's the only real reference."
