Joan D. Keener

— Services for Joan D. Keener, 68, Great Bend, will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Bryant-Christians Funeral Home. Burial will be in Great Bend Cemetery.

Mrs. Keener died Wednesday, Dec. 5, 2001, at Central Kansas Medical Center, St. Rose Campus, Great Bend.

She was born Dec. 3, 1933, in Ransom, the daughter of Harry W. and Mildred (Wisehart) Elliott. She was a resident of Great Bend since 1992, moving from Mullinville.

Mrs. Keener was a homemaker.

She was a member of King United Methodist Church, Great Bend. She also was a library volunteer in Mullinville and Great Bend. She was a member of Order of the Eastern Star, Rush Center.

She married Bill Keener May 27, 1951, in Great Bend. He survives of the home.

Other survivors include a son, Adam, Indianapolis; two daughters, Debbie Winn, Wichita, and Peggie Post, Westmoreland; her mother, Mildred Elliott, Great Bend; a brother, Robert Elliott, Great Bend; a sister, Lois Hickel, Lawrence; and three grandchildren.

Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. today and from 9 a.m. to service time Saturday at the funeral home.

The family suggests memorials in her name to King United Methodist Church, sent in care of the funeral home, 1425 Patton Road, Great Bend 67530.
