A Lawrence teen convicted of taking two children from their mother in February will spend the next 3 1/2 years in prison.
Natasha Helm was originally sentenced to 28 months probation for interfering with parental custody. But that time will be spent in prison after she committed felony theft by stealing a car and driving to Iowa a violation of her probation.
The judge also ordered Helm to serve two additional sentences concurrently 13 months for felony theft and 12 months for telephone harassment.
During her 41-month stay, Helm will also be required to enroll in a substance abuse program.
