Boulder, Colo. — The University of Colorado on Thursday sold out of public tickets for the Fiesta Bowl, even though the football team may not play in the game.
More than 10,000 tickets were sold for the Jan. 1 game, most likely against Oregon. The university started a waiting list in case additional tickets are made available, athletics spokesman Dave Plati said in a news release.
The Buffaloes could play in the Rose Bowl for the national championship against Miami, depending on the LSU-Tennessee game this weekend. It was not clear what would be done with the tickets if Colorado plays in the Rose Bowl.
