He was born July 2, 1909, in Paris, Ark., the son of Houston and Ora (Nichols) Dean. He grew up in the Altus, Ark., area. He moved to Eudora from Denning, Ark., in 1945.
Mr. Dean worked in coal mines in Denning. He later worked for Sunflower Ammunition Plant, and he owned and operated a construction company in Eudora.
He was a member of First Southern Baptist Church, Eudora, where he served as Sunday school superintendent.
He married Beaulah Yother on June 20, 1932, in Altus. She survives of the home.
Other survivors include three sons, Benny, Eudora, and Galen and Thelbert, Texas; three daughters, Lois Briethaupt, Eudora, Mary Sharp, Texas, and Claudia Oglesby, Colorado; 21 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren; and eight great-great-grandchildren.
