— Santa Fe Trail struggled offensively but held Basehor-Linwood to single digits in the first three quarters of a 42-26 Kaw Valley League girls basketball victory Tuesday.

"It wasn't pretty, but it was win and we'll take it," SFT coach Brenda Dahl said. "Defensively we were strong for most of the game, but I think we showed a little tiredness. We struggled on the offensive end and didn't play very well. We weren't very smooth.

Melissa Ball led the Chargers (2-0) with 11 points and Janelle Arnold added nine points.

The Chargers will travel to Leavenworth on Friday to face Immaculata.
