The Lawrence City Commission will review a proposed ordinance that would compel property owners to remove snow and ice from their sidewalks.
The city does not have an ordinance specifically requiring snow removal. The proposal would give owners 48 hours to remove snow after it had fallen. Failure to do so could result in a $10 a day fine. City officials would not enforce the law without specific complaints.
