It's official alcohol will be allowed at pre-game tailgating parties at Kansas University.
KU Chancellor Robert Hemenway announced Thursday that KU would allow alcohol at specific parking areas around Memorial Stadium for KU football fans as an "experiment" for this season.
The guidelines say "Alcohol may be consumed only during a three-hour period before kickoff in the designated areas." It also says no alcohol will be sold in the tailgating areas and that no alcohol can be brought into the stadium.
Kickoff for Saturday's game against Southwest Missouri State is at 6 p.m. Saturday.
