Fort Scott Services for Elsie Pearl Nowak, 56, Fort Scott, will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Cheney Witt Memorial Chapel, Fort Scott. Graveside services will be at 3 p.m. Wednesday in McLouth Cemetery.
Mrs. Nowak died Sunday, Aug. 19, 2001, at Mercy Hospital, Fort Scott.
She was born Oct. 7, 1944, in Kansas City, Kan., the daughter of Marvin and Edith (Canaday) Waters. She attended East High School in Kansas City, Mo., and moved to Fort Scott in 1991.
Mrs. Nowak was a customer service representative for Ennis Business Forms, Fort Scott, and retired in 2000.
She married John William "Jay" Nowak on July 20, 1966, in Miami, Okla. He died March 29, 1977.
Survivors include two sons, William Darrell and Darian Nowak, both of Fort Scott; a daughter, Shelly Nowak, Fort Scott; three sisters, Joan Stocks, Kansas City, Kan., Marilyn Atkinson, Independence, Mo., and Wilma Curtis, Kansas City, Mo.; a stepsister, Marg Beal, Fort Scott; and eight grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 9 a.m. to service time Wednesday at the chapel.
The family suggests memorials to American Cancer Society, and they may be sent in care of the chapel, 201 S. Main, Fort Scott 66701.
