Hiawatha Services for Hazel M. Coulter, 87, Hiawatha, will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Chapel Oaks Funeral Home, Hiawatha. Burial will be in Hiawatha Cemetery.

Mrs. Coulter died Sunday, Aug. 12, 2001, at Maple Heights Nursing Home.

She was born Jan. 15, 1914, in Sabetha, the daughter of George and Margaret (Dust) Dean. She lived in Sabetha until her marriage, attending school there.

She was a bookkeeper for the used car and real estate business she and her husband owned and operated in Hiawatha. After her husband's death, she moved in 1999 to Maple Grove Senior Citizen Housing.

Mrs. Coulter was a member of Trinity Brethren Church, Sabetha.

She married Jess Coulter on June 21, 1933, in Hiawatha. He died Feb. 26, 1999.

A son and daughter also died in infancy.

Survivors include three sons, Charles Coulter, Lawrence, and Gary Coulter and Arlen Coulter, both of Falls City, Neb.; a sister, Edna Cunningham, Hiawatha; nine grandchildren; three stepgrandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and nine stepgreat-grandchildren.

Friends may call after noon today at the funeral home, where the family will receive friends from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesday.

The family suggests memorials to the Brown County Chapter of American Heart Assn., and they may be sent in care of the funeral home, 519 N. First St., Hiawatha 66434.
