Ottawa - Services for Ernest Lowrance will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Dengel & Son Mortuary, Ottawa. Burial will be in Peoria Cemetery.
Mr. Lowrance died Friday, Aug. 10, 2001, at his home.
He was born July 29, 1919, in Franklin County, the son of Thomas Fredrick and Nancy Ellen (Hopper) Lowrance. He attended Evergreen and Cole rural schools.
He worked as a farmer and then in quality control at Coca Cola for 26 years in Ottawa, Topeka, Kansas City, Mo., and Lenexa. He was a member of Teamsters Union No. 838, Kansas City, Mo. He was a former member of the Odd Fellows and a member of its bowling team. He also was a member of the Sinclair bowling team and the White Furniture Store bowling team, both in Ottawa.
He married Phoebe Mae Williams Aug. 28, 1937, in Harrisonville, Mo. She died April 10, 1986. He married Georgia (Fisher) Hamilton May 26, 1987, in Garnett. She survives of the home.
Other survivors include four daughters, Louann Hoopes, Kansas City, Mo., Lavonne Lemon, Gardner, Rebecca Lowrance, Lawrence, and Jill Sieg, Ottawa; one stepson, Jim Hamilton, Williamsburg; three stepdaughters, Katie Peetz, Waverly, Edie Behanna, Pearland, Tex., and Chris Lewis, Driftwood, Tex.; and nine grandchildren, nine stepgrandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and two stepgreat-grandchildren.
Friends may call from 5 p.m. today until service time Tuesday at the mortuary, where the family will receive friends from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday.
