Graveside services for William Wingfield, 69, Lecompton, will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at East View Cemetery in Big Springs.
Mr. Wingfield died Saturday, April 28, 2001, at St. Luke's Hospital in Kansas City, Mo.
He was born Nov. 24, 1931, in Lecompton, the son of Elmer and Florence (Frye) Wingfield.
He attended Lecompton schools and graduated from Lecompton High School in 1949. He worked for Blacktop Paving and was an estimator for the past five years. He also farmed and was a member of the Church of Christ in Stull.
Mr. Wingfield married Georgia Mae Spencer on Aug. 12, 1956, in Lawrence. She survives of the home.
Other survivors include a son, Scott, Lecompton; two daughters, Anita Evanhoe, Dayton, Ohio, and Janet Ardery, Harper, and eight grandchildren.
Friends may call from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. today, 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday and 9 a.m. to noon Tuesday at Rumsey-Yost Funeral Home, Lawrence.
The family suggests memorials to the American Heart Assn. or the Stull Church of Christ, in care of the funeral home.
