Davises take second

Kevin Davis of Lawrence and his father, Mike Davis of Salina, teamed to catch one bass and take second place at the Like Father, Like Son tournament on April 21 at Banner Creek Lake.

Lynch, Russell win

Randy Russell and Dan Lynch teamed to win the Lawrence Fishing and Outdoor Club tournament last Sunday at Leavenworth State Fishing Lake. Second place went to Bruno Langer and Dan Rea. Russell had the big fish -- a 16-inch bass.

Crappie Busters

Only six of 18 teams entered in last weekend's Crappie Busters tournament at Melvern Lake weighed in 10-fish limits. First place went to Pat Golden of Colony and Dan Ramsey of Kincaid with fish weighing 15.55 pounds. Steve Cross of Overbrook, who fished alone, was second with 14.44 pounds.

Free weekend coming

Next weekend will be free to all patrons on Kansas state parks. On Saturday and Sunday, boaters, fishermen and day campers will have free access to state parks. Overnight camping fees are not included.
