Senior services to have fund-raising event
May has been proclaimed Older Americans Month.
Douglas County Senior Services will celebrate by conducting Roundup Days, a fund-raising event, during the month.
Area shoppers will be asked if they would like to roundup their bills to the nearest dollar by participating businesses.
If so, the customer can take the change and place it in a DCSS plastic boot on the counter.
About 50 businesses are participating, according to DCSS.
The proceeds will be used to help finance programs such as bus services, meals and an adult-day program.
For more information, contact the Lawrence Senior Center at 842-0543, or Debbie Heinrich, development chair, at 865-0200.
