Also, KU's distance medley relay team placed fifth in a time of 9:51.5.

The women's 3,200 meter relay team finished second in 8:53.16, for the third-best time in KU history.

Members of the team were not available Saturday night.

Several KU athletes also competed at the UMKC Invitational.

Kerry Fink and Abbey Ferris earned second and third in the 400 hurdles with times of 1:04.67 and 1:07.03 respectively.

Monique Peters finished third in the long jump at 19-2 1/2. Tuleshia Rogers finished fourth in the 400 dash in 58.49, while Abby Nielsen also finished fourth in the 100 hurdles in 15.4.

Leo Bookman notched fourth in the 100 and 200 meters in11.09 and 22.18. Pete Prince placed second in the 5,000 in 15:20.75.

Anson Jackson was third in the 110 hurdles in 15.0 seconds. Meanwhile, Alex Thomas was second in both the discus (156-2) and shot put (49-0 1/4).
